Visitors to the historic Mount at Chepstow sampled a taste of luxury and celebrated local produce at a recent event.
In May people were invited to view the luxury apartments and sample a range of wines and local produce. Wines from Monnow Valley and local cider from Ty Gwyn farm were supplied by Tom Innes of Fingal-Rock wine merchants. Home-made quiches, pies and award winning sausages were available to try courtesy of Peter Powell of H.J.Edwards & Son.
Charles Collier, of developers Bovale, said: “The event was an excellent way to celebrate local produce and what’s available to us on our doorstep. The development itself has been restored using local materials wherever possible, so this combined with the local wines and local produce set in the beautiful surroundings of The Mount made it a very enjoyable evening for all.”
The Mount is set well back off the road, surrounded by extensive grounds, and many people don’t realise that it’s open to view. The special event gave people the chance to visit the site whilst sampling delicious high quality produce in elegant surroundings.
